Winter to Spring Transition

Thursday, March 17, 2016

Sometimes making the winter to spring transition in your wardrobe can be challenging.   The unpredictable weather this time of the year and the new spring collections in stores everywhere can make it overwhelming to know which looks will work best for you.  Today, I will be sharing three tips on how to fashionably transition your winter wardrobe to spring.

1. Layer up - Layering your looks is the best way to ensure that you are ready for unreliable weather.  For best results, use lightweight shirts, blouses, or dress and throw on a warm sweater or a jacket on top.  Scarves can also be a great tool to create a layered look and make a fun statement.
2. Lighten up - Spring is a time of fresh start and regrowth; flowers and trees bloom, days get lighter and brighter.  Try to do the same with your outfits and incorporate lighter items that make you look fresh.  I personally reach for white, cream, and all pastel colors to freshen up my transition looks.
3. Careful on the trend - It can definitely be daunting to see all the new trends hitting the stores around this time of the year.  I'd say take it easy on these trends; instead build a wardrobe with timeless pieces, then add a few trendy items that speak to your personal style.  You can start with accessories, for example.

I would love to know your thoughts on these tips! How do you transition your winter wardrobe into spring?
