Ti Amo Milano

Tuesday, August 09, 2016

As I mentioned in my last post, my husband and I recently came back from our European babymoon.  One of our five stops in Europe included Milan, Italy, which was beautiful in and of itself.  The main attraction that we visited was, of course, the famous Duomo di Milano, the Milan Cathedral.
This Gothic architecture is one of Italy's largest churches and it took nearly six centuries to complete.  This makes complete sense when you look at all the crazy amount of art and details inside and outside the cathedral.  We were excited to find out that the roof was open to tourists, and happily took advantage of it.  The experience was amazing as it allowed a close-up view of the breathtaking sculptures and a forest of openwork pinnacles and spires.  As you can see from the photos, the view was spectacular from the roof.  After touring the cathedral, we enjoyed authentic Italian gelato, which was obviously mouthwateringly delicious!
Stay tuned to find out about our next stop in Europe!

XO,
Dee

  9. I would love to visit Milan one day. Your photos are so stunning! That cathedral is stunning and so are your photos. It's amazing that it took 6 centuries to complete! I reminds me of the church that's continuously under construction in Barcelona. The same kinda of architectural intricacies. Beautiful!
