3 Easy Ways to Master Monochrome

Thursday, February 02, 2017

The monochrome trend is one of my absolute favorite trends.  It is something that never goes out of style because of its versatility and effortlessness.  Today, I am sharing with you three easy ways you can master this timeless trend.  Here we go:

1. Play with textures - Wearing only one color can be monotonous, so keep your outfit interesting by adding textures, like I did here with differing textured knits. Varying textures create dimension and give your outfit a luxe feel.

2. Try adding print - Prints can elevate your outfit from basic to chic.  Add prints like stripes, checks, and abstract prints to give that little extra something to your look.

3. Hint of color won't hurt - Adding a pop of bright or strong color with accessories or makeup will make a great statement with a monochrome look.  I meant to have dark burgundy lips for this look, but of course, I had to forget my lipstick at home!

Do you have any tips for rocking a monochrome look?
Love,
Dee

  7. When it comes to monochromatic dressing, I like the idea of layering. I've been wanting to try a monochromatic look but haven't settled on what colour to use as my main focus. I've seen greys and all blacks but I'm thinking maybe a neutral blush? Love your sweater and beanie!
